Chuck Clarkson

Chuck Clarkson joined CS&A in 1984 and now, as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Chappell, Smith & Associates, Inc., has more than forty years experience in the insurance industry including eight years as an underwriter and marketing representative for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. Chuck is on the Board of Directors for CS&A, and he is currently on the Agent Advisory Board of Builder’s Mutual and was a former State Chairman of St. Paul Insurance Company’s Agents’ Advisory Board. Chuck handles CS&A’s Property and Casualty commercial insurance accounts and supports their General Aviation line in property, auto, workman’s compensation, and bonds.

Jodie Folk

A veteran account executive, Jodie Folk has over thirty-five years experience in insurance. He traces his insurance background to Liberty Mutual’s Loss Prevention Department in the 1970s and joined CS&A in 1996. Both a Large Account Agent and Risk Management Consultant, Jodie has strong technical knowledge and enjoys the challenge of the large commercial accounts and their unique risks. Jodie is a graduate of the University of Georgia, past President of the Insurers of Nashville, has served on the Education Committee for the State Insurance Association, and has taught continuing education insurance classes in Middle Tennessee.

Steve Lee

Steve brings over thirty-six years of experience in placing commercial coverages to Chappell, Smith & Associates, Inc., which he joined in 2005. He began his career as an underwriting assistant with Employers Insurance of Wausau then transitioned to the agent side of insurance with Corroon & Black. He was a partner with Security Insurance for twenty-four years. Steve earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation in 1976 and served as president of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of CPCU in 1983. At CS&A, a large portion of Steve’s work is with the restaurant industry—franchisers and franchisees of fast food and full service restaurants, as well as with privately owned higher-end restaurants.

Todd Lee

Todd joined Chappell, Smith & Associates, Inc. in 2005 having worked in the insurance field since 1997. Todd is a University of Tennessee graduate in finance and economics and began his insurance career as a claims adjuster with Travelers Insurance Company. He later worked as a claims specialist in commercial business interruption claims, and was a partner with Security Insurance producing commercial accounts.

Jodie Folk and Chuck Clarkson along with Steve and Todd Lee are the force behind CS&A’s expertise in crafting insurance coverage plans for small and large businesses. Their combined experiences in insuring businesses equal more than 118 years.

Jodie, Chuck, Steve and Todd have the skills and creativity to plan special programs for large property risks and large vehicle fleets, whether public or private. Owning a business can bring several levels of risk, as Jodie and Chuck know first hand because both operated their own businesses before joining Chappell, Smith & Associates, Inc.

As a father and son team, Steve and Todd Lee brought more than 43 years of Property and Casualty experience to CS&A. They all know that the proper insurance can insulate you from pitfalls that might otherwise exhaust operating capital or lead a business to close.
