FIXED BASED OPERATORS

CHARTER OPERATIONS

Charter Operations have proven to be tricky in placing insurance coverage.  There are many factors as it relates to the age, type, and total number of aircraft.  These operations also encounter urgent insurance demands daily from the FAA and customers.  There are advisors at CS&A who have operated their own airlines and understand the intricacies of getting these fleets covered properly and are able to accommodate all the specific needs of the operation.

AVIONICS

Avionics shops have similar exposures as Repair and Service facilities.  The Products/Completed Operations coverage protect the business if there is an accident resulting from improper avionics installation.  Hangarkeeper’s coverage protects against damages to aircraft during the installation process.  One item often overlooked is coverage for the avionics themselves.  The customers aircraft policy covers avionics if they are already installed and a part of the aircraft, but what if the $50,000 of avionics are in the hangar and are stolen or destroyed in a fire?  CS&A has a long history of partnering with avionics shops to make sure there are no gaps in coverage.

PAINT SHOPS

Aircraft paint shops are a different type of aviation operation, but the policies necessary to protect the business properly are similar. The excess application of stripping solvents onto a windshield which later causes it to crack, or accidental overspray onto the interior or avionics of an aircraft causing the need for repair or replacement are just examples of some common claims. The exposure to chemicals presents a specific Pollution exposure and can negatively impact employees if not handled properly.  CS&A understands these risks and can build a custom program to address each of them.

AIRPORT AUTHORITIES/FUELING & STORAGE

Airport Authorities providing fueling and storage or an independent FBO’s offering these same services are exposed to several risks.  Mis-fueling of an aircraft leading to a fuel spill or damaged cause while towing an aircraft into a hanger are common claims.  Many of these operations also include a Board of Directors who require specific coverages to protect them properly.  CS&A understands the intricacies of these type operations and have the programs in place to meet their unique coverage needs.
